today is sunday 29 june 2003.

church, then panda express, then sleep, then church, then some chinese place near cherry creek (which by the way, was really, really good--i had chicken/pork chow fun--i know where i'm going next week!), then some computer work, and a little bit of reading.

melvinistic terms:

batter's box--you can try all the practice swings, but when you're in the batter's box in the cage or the real game, you panic and forget everything. has a definite plus side--when you're in the batter's box, there is a sense of focus--you forget everything else in the world except that little ball coming at you.

corolla--melvinistic dream car. o.k. maybe not the flashiest car out there, not even real stylish--but highly efficient, and no one doubts that!

no big cats in maui report. i think this is big.

well, friends, tomorrow is the day i begin (again). tomorrow i start expository preaching of ot texts at denver seminary with dr. scott wenig. a 4.5 hour class, 5 days (including 04 july), for 2 weeks. i'm not very fond of these blocks classes. as i told the secretary at the records office--no audit this time (like hebrew)--this one is for real. urban/cross-cultural ministry will be tuesday nights in the fall, and hermeneutics will be across 4 weekends in the spring. first d.min. seminar is scheduled for january.

and again i say i really don't want to do this--but i cannot deny the Lord has given the opportunity--an opportunity of a lifetime. it's not that i'm afraid of failing--the only failure will be in not trying. it's passing that scares me--and the opportunities and responsibilities that come along with the learning and training.

dodger report: o.k. folks--i admit the dodgers this week is cold. only game they win is wed in san fran.
