today is saturday 08 july 2006.

the national league wild west comes to the middle of the season with every team at some point of the season sitting at the top and bottom. a stat on mlb game of the week showed how each team spent anywhere from 2 weeks to about a month in first. that's wild. the consensus is whoever gets a good winning streak will win the division. anyone slumping badly is doomed.

the dodgers, though they were on last week and this week, have been killed in these saturday games.

so we got our home phone line cut the other day. so exciting this takes a line in my blog.

after we cut our phone line, i decided to cut netscape.com . . . who needs dial-up now? netscape being part of aol, i figured they would fight to keep me subscribed. i didn't want to end up like that guy who spent half-an-hour trying to cancel his account. with cell phone in hand, and limited time--i went to battle the customer service representative. well, i think the guy couldn't argue with my reason for giving up netscape. it was too easy . . .

well, the day i've dreaded had come--since high school i've had a set of kenwood earbuds that had unparalleled clarity . . . so hip, i bought at least three sets. one set i remember losing while changing planes at the dallas airport. one set had the wires chewed by a friend's cat (i am forgiving, and me and the owner of the cat are still friends). and the last set stopped working yesterday. at least one side stopped working.

throughout the years, i've tried various types of headphones. and i've not liked a set as much as my kenwood earbuds. i even have a sennheiser hd497, but i still liked the kenwoods more. after some research, i settled on a set of sennheiser mx550s . . . and after playing around all day with equalizer settings, i think they almost like the kenwoods. almost . . .
