today is 17 december 2005.

point your browser here to see exciting turkey frying video . . . notice the snow. notice the fire extinguisher. notice the extra protection . . . needless to say, this shouldn't be attempted at home unless you really feel comfortable doing it. this scares the living daylights out of me . . .

colorado Christmas last night was pretty hip . . . point your browser here if you want to catch a glimpse.

did the dumb thing to the charisian presence's computer--pulled a usb cable out i guess at the wrong time. mendellsohn didn't like it--now i'm playing e-mail tag with tech support in india while the guys in texas are telling me something else . . . we'll see what happens . . .

the dodgers are trying to nomar garciapara . . . great. after we get him we gotta figure out where to put him . . .

remember a few years ago the dodgers needed a bat so tried dante bichette. the dodgers put him at first, and the dodgers found out what colorado fans already knew--he can hit, but he can't catch. but part of the lesson was learned, bichette was never put out in the outfield. regardless, bichette retired.

anyway, the plan is to have bill mueller at third, furcal at ss, kent and then izturis (when he gets back) at second, and garciapara/saenze/choi and then kent (when izturis takes second) at first . . . the outfield is perilous . . . werth is somewhere, so is ledee. but milton bradley is gone to oakland and grabowski to japan . . . who knows what will happen next . . .

today is wednesday 14 december 2005.

sunday was melvinism day . . . with the relocation, the counters weren't up in the classroom so the day came up quickly. nothing really wild happened, but johnny carino's is for sultans!

another thing that is for sultans is copland's symphony number 3. the colorado symphony was pretty wild on saturday with symphony number 3. the charisian presence called it disonant--and maybe she's wondering why such a piece is my absolute favorite . . . lang lang was expressive. maybe too expressive for my taste. his encore "moon shining over lake in the autumn" was cool. as he played, i saw the trees, the mountains, the carp swimming in the lake, etc. 8-b

i'm officially in the market for a new computer. yeah, yeah, i've talked about this for about two years now. reminds me of my parents when they were looking for a new vehicle . . . checking out the car lots for several years during my trips back to hawaii was the activity until they got a scion xb earlier this year. i went to comp usa hoping their cost plus 5% was going to amount to real savings--a $950 toshiba was going to run me $926. what a sale. this is so exciting this takes a line in my blog. but at least, it was cold like the day after thanksgiving. and it wasn't five in the morning. and there weren't any dorky people there taking the joy out of Christmas.

notice i wrote down Christmas . . . not just holidays.

nephew is back in the homeland. i guess the pit bull (trust me you--a friendly dog. not a cujo by any means) and orbit are having a easy time adjusting to nephew.

dodgers finally got a manager. this is so exciting this takes a line in my blog.

dodgers got rafael furcal. this is so exciting this takes a line in my blog.

dodgers trades milton bradley and antonio perez. this is so exciting this takes a line in my blog.

dodgers will take fourth if not last next year. this is so exciting this takes a line in my blog.

today is saturday 03 december 2005 . . .

woke up to two inches of snow on my car this morning . . . wild weather here in colorado . . .

csi has been wild of late. thanksgiving las vegas csi had a golden labrador (don't worry, not like the legless ones that have been showing up on cbs4denver.com) . . . anyway, the animal handler called the dog "cujo" and i laughed. the charisian presence wondered what "cujo" meant. a bunch of people came over the day after thanksgiving and i told them of the "cujo" line. they laughed too--but didn't know what that meant . . . i guess i'm dating myself--cujo was the stephen king horro flick of the 80's where the dog got rabies and went on a killing spree . . .

the miami csi with the csi guy being found out of buying drugs was pretty wild. that horatio guy is pretty wild too. a friend told me horatio is possibly the modern version of steve mcgarrett from hawaii five-o. now i'm dating myself . . .

talking of old tv shows . . . pretty soon they need to have a csi characters from manum p.i. or how about from the a-team! whatever happened to mr. t?

and yes, the melvinistic holiday is coming soon. my name even showed up on spanish 2 bj linc the other day. wild.

Christmas trees are out in hawaii . . . no big incidents to tell of . . . funny how mom and dad were reluctant to get one last year when i was headed back to the homeland--but this year when grandkid (don't worry not my kid) gets to go to hawaii mom and dad have no problems getting a tree . . .

a vp of the dodgers recently retired. the reporters from the la times reported this individual was usually pretty gracious--until now. supposedly the dodgers are team in the most trouble right now. that's comforting to hear and it's december. at least i'm still an angels fan!

made an apple pie the other week. had an extra apple, so i made some applle cobbler too. pumpkin pie was sultan also. follow mike campbell's lead--come on over and have some!

colorado symphony next week . . . symphony no 3 by copland! a must see!
