today is saturday 30 october 2004.

wild last weekend of october. almost miss the autumn colors i used to see in greenville. so exciting this takes a line in my blog.

what is exciting is elections. early voting and flu shots--both causing people to stand in long lines.

also long lines--red sox parade. but that's pretty much been a once-in-a lifetime event. less frequent than lunar eclipses.

a student comes up to me and says, "God must like chicken. this is evident because everything tastes likes chicken."

getting into the violin concerto stuff. by now i'd normally be listening to Christmas stuff.

today is thursday 28 october 2004.

lunar eclipse last night. cool. but i guess i'm spoiled--i went through a 97% solar eclipse once when i was a little melvin--that was cool.

also cool is the red sox. ok--i predicted the curse to take place sometime in the 6th through 9th innings. but this never happened. the red sox nation rejoices in the first world series win in what seems a lifetime.

talking about sports. why the mess do people consider cheerleading a sport. now let me tell you of a sport--sumo wrestling is a sport. those dudes can do the splits. and some wrestlers are smaller than cheerleaders. 8-b

in algebra, the picture is the most important part in solving the problem. this is a horse. or sometimes a dog. actually, this is the generic picture of an animal. sans teeth.

Friday, October 22, 2004

today is friday 22 october 2004.

watching a middle-school volleyball game yesterday . . . don't know if i like the new rules . . . like speed scoring--i always hated speed scoring. and the serves allowed to touch the net? changes the way the game is played.

roger clemens is done . . . i think he's finally retired. the astros won't be the same team next year--and i don't think clemens will want to come back if it isn't the same team as this year.

the cards win. though i'd like the bosox to win, i can't help to think that the curse is real. . . . but of course i could be wrong.

Monday, October 18, 2004

today is monday 18 october 2004.

the red sox/yankees rivalry is wild indeed. twelfth inning homerun by ortiz early this morning was wild.

teachers conference in fort collins last week. so exciting it takes a line in my blog.

why is it that i have a hard time adding? i figured i could not get 7 + 5 or 8 + 5. i just don't get it.

the other night i'm watching tv and i'm enamoured by noodling. no you won't see me noodling--that's the art of catching huge catfish with your bare hands. the fish have a face that only their mothers could love (real ugly) . . . but noodling fascinated me.

Monday, October 11, 2004

today is monday 11 october 2004.

dodgers lost. a sad postseason to some--but at least we had the extra week of baseball (unlike san francisco).

otherwise, not much is going on.

Saturday, October 02, 2004

today is saturday 02 october 2004.

melvinistic event today--celebration of the aniversary of the the charisian birthday!

dodgers could clinch today. or they could not . . . they could surprise me and win today and take the division. or they can lose today, lose tomorrow, and lose the one-game showdown on monday--and we all blame depodesta for this whole mess.

musashimaru retired today. the second foreign-born yokozuna had his top-knot cut off . . . by the way--this is sumo wrestling we're talking about. musashimaru born fiamalu penitani was from a hawaii--and a grand chapion in japan.

orbit is still fat. really fat.
