Sunday, April 25, 2004

today is sunday 25 april 2004.

so blu flu is overrated i finally figured out . . . figured out after the one hour rain delay, which i totally hate by the way . . . figured out after the dodgers were down 7-1 in the 6th inning . . . figured out after sitting in the cold weather--an almost frigid 37 degrees . . . and finally figured out after the rain finally got through my jacket . . . it was miserable--i'll probably never go to another game again . . .

ok . . . maybe not, seeing as "my dodgers" are simply abusing the giants and the most of the nl west. the other first place teams are 12-6--boston, minnesota, florida, and chicago (the cursed cubbies).

last seminary class friday in hermeneutics . . . dr. ecklebarger mentions this might be his last time in the classroom as he is being assigned the online classes . . . nice gesture that the entire class gives him a round of applause . . . happy to be taught by one of the best.

aside from that--nothing really going on . . . except being in the "charisian presence" . . .

Thursday, April 22, 2004

today is thursday 22 april 2004.

blue flu today . . . real "sick" . . . need to see a specialist . . . in downtown, even . . . real "sick" . . .

talking about blue flu--the dodgers and rockies play last night in less than ideal conditions . . . 39 degrees with rain mixed with snow is less than ideal if you ask me.

but today is lima time!

the angels are playing so flat it's unbelievable.

but "my dodgers" are playing so well, it's unbelievable . . .

so hadji even writes about this "my dodgers"/"hadji's dodgers" thing in his blog . . . hadj calls it "real safe."

not that i care, but jasmine trias is still on american idol . . . but the other person from hawaii got booted a few weeks back . . .

so colorado governor signs a bill that stops cities from outlawing certain breeds of dogs from existing in their municipal jurisdictions . . . so the city of denver complains because of pit bulls . . . let's get to the real problem--get rid of overgrown poodles! those things should be outlawed.

a little ceasers's pizza is opening down the street . . .

six to twelve inches of snow expected tonight (hopefully after the game) . . . maybe a snow day tomorrow?

aside from that, nothing really going on . . . ok--maybe not so, but again blogging suffers in the charisian presence. 8-)

Sunday, April 18, 2004

today is sunday 18 april 2004.

yes, in case people are wondering, blogging suffers when most of my time is in the charisian presence. 8-o

but something to blog about is "my" dodgers . . . indeed they are winning--and you know the dodgers are winning big time if barry bonds can homer 4 times in three games--yet the giants lose three games.

not that i was ever a real angels fan, but money can't buy you wins always. the angels are playing flat.

and yes, "my" dodgers are here in town tchuesday, wednesday, thursday . . . and i'm starting to get "sick" for thursday.

Wednesday, April 14, 2004

today is wednesday 14 april 2004.

so i call the kiddies "cowboys." they all tell me "we're not cowboys." such is life in middle school lunch.

kiddies also throw a baseball around when the weather's good. they need some practice.

so hadji gets on my case again for dissing the dodgers. let's do this--if the dodgers win, then they're "my dodgers." if they lose, then they're "hadji's dodgers."

so hadji brings up a valid point--and one i need to consider. is meatloaf part of the "charisian" diet?

so evangelist mike schrock is in town for school revival. he reminded us that "when the trumpet of the Lord shall sound--not a mention of the 'violin' of the Lord." someone told me that making fun of violins in the charisian presence is like skating on thin ice--and i was the only one on the row laughing at that line.

so i'm reading odd news. seems like hawaiians are somewhat fanatical and obsessive when it comes to faddish foods. will someone get the message--will someone open up another krispy kreme in hawaii? it seems that airliners have their luggage bins filled with krispy kreme doughnuts from maui and the mainland. maybe the airports missed the big money-making venture . . . or better yet, have hawaiian air start a franchise. this could pull them out of bankrupcy.

Sunday, April 11, 2004

today is sunday 11 april 2004.

happy easter . . . time to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord.

which reminds of the time dr. bell our beloved systematic theology professor had us spell resurrection on a test--a majority of the students got that question wrong.

dodgers on a tear . . . two series won . . . off to petco park.

Saturday, April 10, 2004

today is saturday 10 april 2004.

snow today. yep, snow.

so dodgers win another won. three in a row. if this keeps up this could be long season--for the rest of the national league. interesting to see the firepower 1-8--from roberts, to izturis, to bradley, to green, to loduca, to encarnacion, to beltre, to cora--all the regulars have had a paragraph in recent articles . . . could be a long season indeed.

Thursday, April 08, 2004

today is thursday 08 april 2004.

i guess the dodgers won in the last at-bat again last night. if this keeps up, we're going to need a sort of mascot. like a rally monkey.

Tuesday, April 06, 2004

today is tuesday 06 april 2004.

so the students ask--"so mr. c., is the person you hang around with also a dodger fan?"

mr. c--"this year, even i'm not a dodger fan."

it's gonna be a long season . . .

Sunday, April 04, 2004

today is sunday 04 april 2004.

dodger season . . . latimes gave up on them this early in the season. roberts, izturis, bradley, green, loduca, encarnacion, beltre, cora, and then the pitcher. yes you saw correctly, milton bradley batting third. and no this lineup doesn't scare anyone. the pitching staff, though good, doesn't scare anyone either.

aside from that, nothing really going on . . . . . . . . . .
